Briana has heard his voice for years in dreams. Calling to her. She hears that same voice from the handsome stranger she meets on vacation, captivating and so familiar. When he unexpectedly transforms into a werewolf, Briana flees in horror. She knows him … he is the wolfman who haunts her nightmares. More than anything else, it is her lustful response to the beast that terrifies her.

When Raynor finally meets his mate, he is confused by her reaction and even more so by her response when he shifts. She doesn’t recognize him. In an attempt to escape, Briana jumps through the time portal of his people, landing her in Medieval England. Raynor must rescue her, which requires bonding with Briana as her mate. But first he must teach Briana that she is a shifter, then convince her not to be repelled by her other self, an ancient, powerful shifter. A snakewoman.

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Time Shifters by Myra Nour. I received a copy of this book through Ravenswood Publishing in exchange for an honest review of it.

Time Shifters is about shape shifters who are able to travel through time. In the story we follow Briana and Raynor, two shape shifter soulmates. Briana has no clue that she is a shapeshifter until she finds Raynor, a handsome guy who shapeshifts into a werewolf among other things. The attraction is instant but it takes a little longer for them to bond due to Brianna’s disconnect with her shapeshifter roots. Raynor longs for her and when she jumped through a time portal he must follow her through it and save her.

I feel like I need to start this review off by saying that I literally fell in love with the cover of this book. It is one of the most gorgeous book covers that I have ever seen on a paranormal romance, hands down. Love it.

It’s been awhile since I have read a paranormal romance but I think this was a good one to jump back into the genre with. I enjoyed the story even though I don’t think that werewolves are my preference of choice in shape shifting paranormal romance, although I know it is a popular one. The story definitely felt like paranormal romance with fantasy elements thrown in and with time travel some science fiction elements as well. So it was a nice blend of genres that I really had fun with.

It is pretty sexy, definitely very adult. The sexy times in this one were very different from what I have previously read which was interesting, especially since some scenes involved a snake woman having sexy times with a vampire. This book had danger, romance, sexy times and time travel – all things that can hold my attention especially when mashed into a good story. I wish it had been longer, I think maybe the story wouldn’t have felt so rushed to me then but I have to admit that it was really great to be able to pick this up and read it in one sitting. I really liked the fighting scenes between vampires when they travel to the past and I just really love then Briana as the snakewoman gets pissed off and takes it out on people, such a far cry from who she is when she is just Brianna. It seems like this should be part of a series, I’m not sure if it is, but I would totally be down to read more about these Shifters. I think the concept is a really fun one.

If you are a paranormal romance fan or are into shapeshifter romances, this is one you may enjoy. I enjoyed it so I am giving it a 3.5 star review.

Eternal Craving is the main pick of this month for Vaginal Fantasy Book Club over on Goodreads. I hadn’t read a Vag Fan pick in awhile and decided to get back into reading the picks and watching the hangouts. This month’s theme was dinosaur fiction!

Eternal Craving is about a pack of immortals trying to save humanity from the events of the Mayan doomsday prophecy. Immortals along with demons, werewolves and vampires are planning to bring about humanity’s fall but the eleven have vowed to wipe out the troublemakers one by one. The eleven, although they appear human, have the souls of dinosaurs trapped within them and they are able to release their dinosaur souls to get their jobs done. They are rage filled and primal with all of their primal instincts to lead them. One in particular, Al, finds himself in turmoil over a beautiful woman named Jenna whom is also a key to humanity’s survival. Little does he know how much she is going to impact his soul.

I am really surprised at how much I ended up enjoying this book. I really went into it not expecting it to be great but I thought it was really entertaining and fun to read. I thought that some parts of the story and specific lines were really cheesy and made me chuckle to myself but that just made it even more fun to read. I thought that the story itself was pretty interesting and really different from anything I’ve read to date. The pacing was really good as well. I’ve definitely never read, nor thought I would ever read a romance novel that featured a dinosaur as a main love interest. Interesting right? It sounds outlandish but it was rather interesting and fun. This happens to be book two in the series and I can say for sure that I would definitely be willing to read the other books in this series. It was pleasantly steamy in some parts and the steamy scenes weren’t cheesy so I was happy about that. It wasn’t a complex book but it was a good little read…light, entertaining and unique. Definitely a guilty pleasure read and I’m one hundred percent sure it can be read in one sitting. I do recommend it to paranormal romance fans looking for an entertaining book to read!

Lost Blurb:

One…Two…Three…Breathe

There is no other choice

You know what you have to do

Don’t think, Bre, just go

I begin to take my final step forward, feeling the urgency of what I know I should do, but I immediately think of who I will be leaving behind. If I go I won’t be able to say goodbye. I won’t be able to tell him that I love him. I want to tell him that I’m sorry for what’s going to happen to me, and beg him to forgive me for what I’m about to do.

Tears begin to filter from my eyes as I realize there is no other choice. Perhaps I will finally know why I have been given this gift of seeing into the future.

Accepting that this is my lot—my final end—I take a deep breath and run to the boy. As I do, I block out everything and everyone that I love far from my mind.

Time has run out for me.

Don’t think, Bre, just go.

Lost, the electrifying sequel to The Awaken series, will draw you deeper into the world that Bre is beginning to unfold. This riveting novel will prove that true love comes in many forms, that deception is all around us, that the secrets of our opposers are often hidden in plain sight, and that the world in which we dwell holds more than what we see on the surface.

Book Review: The Space Between by Kristie Cook

17552467Title: The Space Between (The Book of Phoenix #1) written by Kristie Cook
Genre: New Adult – Paranormal Romance
Publisher: Ang’dora Productions, LLC
Page count: 408
Format: Ebook (read on Kindle app for Microsoft Surface)
Rating – 5/5

When Life Falls to Pieces, Answers Lie in the Space Between

Leni Drago can’t make a smart decision on her own, according to her mother anyway–the few times she’s tried resulted in disaster. When her uncle sends her on a dance tour in Italy to find her real self, she returns to an empty home and any evidence of his existence wiped out. Then things get even stranger, like the mysterious appearances of Jeric Winters–inked, pierced and a hit-’em-and-quit-’em type. He’s one decision that should be easy for Leni. Or is he?

Jeric doesn’t do girlfriends. Unless they’re someone else’s. He left the fighting cage and modeling for a reason, and girls who want more than a night of fun are distractions he doesn’t need. Especially when they come with as much baggage as Leni carries. But he can’t shake the gut feeling that he needs to know her. All of her.

To discover the truth behind their connection and their ties to a journal from 1989, they must face painful secrets from their pasts. And they must do so quickly because their own existences are falling to pieces.

Two love stories, one mystery and a paranormal twist that readers call “mind blowing.” This first part of The Book of Phoenix takes you on a heart-wrenching ride as you discover the answers that lie in The Space Between.

I decided to download and read The Space Between on a whim while I was browsing through the free ebooks in the romance section of the Amazon Kindle app. I don’t typically browse these that often but I absolutely fell in love with the cover of this book and was immediately drawn in by the synopsis. This is quite literally the first free ebook I’ve ever gotten off of Amazon (it’s also free on B&N Nook) so  I wasn’t too sure what to expect and I admit at not having high expectations but I am so happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised by what I found within the pages of this book.

The Space Between is a wonderfully unique and beautiful story. It is also wildly romantic, sexy, tragic and suspenseful. I am so impressed by it. For some reason I thought this would be a typical romance book but even though it did have a few romance cliché’s and cheesy one liners, these were very few and far between. I enjoyed these characters and this story so much. It was nearly impossible for me to guess where the plot was going the whole time I read it. The “story within a story” narrative was confusing for me at first but if you stick it out and pay attention that gets cleared up in no time and is something I ended up enjoying. When I first started reading this book I forgot that it was a paranormal romance and the plot twist literally knocked me off of my feet, it’s breathtaking!

If you’re a paranormal romance or fantasy romance fan, you won’t want to miss this book and remember it’s free right now on Amazon and B&N. It is the first book in a series (yes!) and the second book has been released. I can say without a doubt that I will be reading the second book very, very soon because I want more of this romance and I want to know more about these twin flames and what their mission is going to be, what they mean for the world, etc. AHHH, great book!!
