Hello everyone and welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Sapphire: The Shattered Realms. I would like to give a very warm thank you to the author Elayne Griffith and Mythos Press for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

Sapphire: The Shattered Realms is a YA fantasy title about a teenage girl Ava, who on the eve of her sixteenth birthday discovers that her parents have been keeping a terrible secret from her. Not only are they not her real parents but she is from an entirely different world…a world in which fairies, unicorns and enchanted crystals are a reality. Faced with a doomsday prophecy and pretty scary enemies, Shawna embarks on a quest (along with unlikely friends) to claim her birthright and save her world.

I loooooved this book. I have never read a book (that I can remember) that had a unicorn in it and when I was presented with the opportunity to read this book I jumped at the chance, because really who doesn’t love unicorns? I think though that I had the impression that it might be a super cheesy fantasy story but that was a totally wrong impression. It was awesome. It definitely wasn’t cheesy but was super fun and interesting. I absolutely loved all the characters that we meet throughout the story from the ones we meet for only a few seconds like the super cute lor-lor to Shawna, or shall I say, Ava herself.  I really liked her character journey from Shawna to Ava. I found her a little annoying at first but what teenage girl isn’t at that age, I know I was but as her character develops throughout the story I just grew to love her…she turns into a pretty strong, badass girl. I really loved that the romance line of this story was kept pretty light because I think a lot of emphasis in YA novels IS put on the romance lines but this book kept the emphasis on Shawna’s quest and her story which was really cool.

I actually can’t sing enough praises about this book, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I ended up loving it. I was fully engrossed in this world from page one and I just loved every minute of it. What a great, fun, pleasurable read. I am so glad I read this. If you are looking for a fun, YA fantasy to read, I highly recommend reading this book. The writing was awesome and the characters were great. Loved it!

Hello all and welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Buan: The Perfect Mortals! I’d like to thank Mythos Press as well as the author Reece Bridger, for the opportunity to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.

Buan is an epic fantasy series about four siblings with a great destiny. Each a key component of a hero. I love the idea of siblings who each possess a vital quality essential to a hero so that they must work together to fulfill their shared destiny.

I gave this book a full five star rating. Needless to say, I loved this book. The story itself was wonderfully written with a  highly detailed world and developed characters. I loved the strong women of this novel and I think my favorite is the little sister Fantasia whom reminds me a bit of Arya from Game of Thrones. Elrena was also one of my favorites!

I had a lot of fun reading this book, it’s definitely one of my most favorite reads of 2014. I think it deserves a spot among great epic fantasy reads. I can’t wait to continue the series! I loved everything about it. The author is a great storyteller and the blend of action, danger, and fantasy was just right. Definitely recommend as a must read to fantasy fans, I think this is a valuable author to watch and series to get into!

Blog Tour Book Review & Giveaway: Fall from Grace: The Scribing of Ishitar

0526114-N Fall From GraceTitle: Fall From Grace: The Scribing of Ishitar written by Carrie F. Shepard
Genre: Epic Fantasy Adventure
Publisher: Mythos Press
Page count: 490
Format: Ebook (read on Kindle app for Microsoft Surface)
Rating – 5/5

Ishitar is born on the cusp of a great war between the two ruling Gods of the Heavens and Hells Realms. With his father in control of a repressive society and his mother fighting for free will for all, he believes the game that they play to be just that: a game. Little does he know that the players that he sees are not necessarily the ones who will influence the outcome.

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for The Scribing of Ishitar! I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I loved this book! Everything about it was captivating for me! First I’d like to talk about the cover. Are you kidding me??! This book cover is awesome! I know a book’s cover shouldn’t play a part in your wanting to read the book but let’s face it, we are visual creatures and this cover is one of those that instantly captivates you and is just too tempting and interesting a cover for me not to immediately want to read the book.

That aside, once I actually started reading the book I was done for, I loved this book. The writing is beautiful and so detailed, something I definitely expect from the epic fantasy genre. When I say that this book is detailed, do not take that for granted, this is probably one of the most detailed books that I have read in awhile and can get confusing pretty fast if the reader is not giving all of their attention to the story. There are ALOT of characters in this book that each have some very interesting stories and backgrounds but what I thought was really interesting was their relationships with all the other characters.

This story was a pretty unique spin on the biblical “creation” stories that we become familiar with at a young age. It’s sort of the unexplored behind the scenes story. It was so imaginative, dark and sensual…literally impossible for me to put down. The story and it’s characters had me completely engrossed and it’s such a dramatic story right from the start. As I was reading it I found myself making connections between the stories and angels that I am already familiar with and it was just interesting to see the pieces of their stories come together in ways that I could never have imagined. I don’t know about you but I have always been so interested in the angels and the events of the “fall from grace” and this book gives a pretty tempting and unique perspective on these events and was just captivating for me. So interesting! It’s hard for me to choose a favorite character because there are so many great and interesting characters presented to us in this story, some whose stories are so tragic and compelling but I think my favorite character so far is Loki although Ishitar is definitely a close second.

Having started this series, I am DYING to read the next book! I recommend giving this series a read and am going to help you out on that front because I have 20 ebook copies to give away so leave a comment! You won’t be disappointed! Check out the playlist below too to complement your reading of this book!
