My Policies

I didn’t intend my blog to be a formal book blog or reviewing blog since it is mixed with personal posts about my life, school and my journey to be a librarian BUT it has actually evolved into my book reviewing blog and I am having so much fun book blogging my way through 2013. This page will continuously be under construction as I learn. I am still super new to blogging and book reviewing in general.

I don’t get paid to read books (I wish!) and I don’t get paid to write any reviews. The content herein is solely my personal opinion and take on the books. Most of the books I review on here I buy either at the physical bookstore or off of the B&N Nook store. I have recently begun to get ARC’s through NetGalley which are given by publishers in exchange for honest reviews. All of my reviews will be honest as I feel there really is no other way to be when talking about books. I have also started to participate in blog review tours where I will receive a copy of the book and will blog an honest review of the book as well. I especially love doing this for self published authors, I am all about supporting our self published authors. I am currently not taking submissions but will update when I start up again.

This blog is a hobby and does not intend to or profess to be uber professional. That being said anything expressed on this blog is my honest opinion! I don’t mean to offend anyone and if I do please let me know! That is definitely not my intention here! I read absolutely anything, I find enjoyment in all types of literature be it children’s to adult, fiction to nonfiction.

  1. My name is David Meredith and I very recently came across your book blog. I have just released a novel – The Reflections of Queen Snow White – on in the Kindle Store this past October and would be happy to send you a complimentary copy if you would be interested in reviewing it. I have included the dust cover synopsis below. If you are interested, just send me an e-mail and I will happily send you your free copy right away. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response!

What happens when “happily ever after” has come and gone?

On the eve of her only daughter, Princess Raven’s wedding, an aging Snow White finds it impossible to share in the joyous spirit of the occasion. The ceremony itself promises to be the most glamorous social event of the decade. Snow White’s castle has been meticulously scrubbed, polished and opulently decorated for the celebration. It is already nearly bursting with jubilant guests and merry well-wishers. Prince Edel, Raven’s fiancé, is a fine man from a neighboring kingdom and Snow White’s own domain is prosperous and at peace. Things could not be better, in fact, except for one thing:

    The king is dead.

The queen has been in a moribund state of hopeless depression for over a year with no end in sight. It is only when, in a fit of bitter despair, she seeks solitude in the vastness of her own sprawling castle and climbs a long disused and forgotten tower stair that she comes face to face with herself in the very same magic mirror used by her stepmother of old.

It promises her respite in its shimmering depths, but can Snow White trust a device that was so precious to a woman who sought to cause her such irreparable harm? Can she confront the demons of her own difficult past to discover a better future for herself and her family? And finally, can she release her soul-crushing grief and suffocating loneliness to once again discover what “happily ever after” really means?

Only time will tell as she wrestles with her past and is forced to confront The Reflections of Queen Snow White.

      • Actually, I just realized that my response went straight to your comment board. I don’t think sending the copy there would work. Do you have a prefered e-mail address where I can send it? As soon as I get your address, the review copy will be on its way! Thanks again for taking the time! It is much appreciated.   David Meredith

  2. Hey Ms. Noseinabook,

I am also a WordPress blogger and occasional reviewer of things, and I have recently published my first novel. The book, Renegade, is a science fiction time traveler piece (with a good dose of romance, of course!). I did not see a formal submission site on your blog, but I was hoping you might consider my novel for review. Here is a quick blurb:

There are just three rules to being a time traveler.

    1. Do not, under any circumstance, interfere with your environment during travel.
    2. Do not attempt to carry other persons or large articles during travel.
    3. Keep your talisman on your person at all times.

When time traveler Andrew Simmons loses his talisman in pre-revolutionary Boston, he must race against the clock to retrieve his only way home. Everything is on the line – family, love, freedom, honor, and quite possibly the future. But as time reveals a long line of dark secrets, Andrew realizes he must save more than just his skin. He must also save his kind.

Renegade is available on Kindle for $3.99, and will also be on Nook soon. Additionally, I can order paperback copies if needed. You can read the first chapter for free at the website below, and if it looks like something you would be interested in I would love to send you a FREE copy. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!

  3. Hiya 🙂

I know you’re probably a busy woman, so I’ll keep this short 😀 My name is Violet Cross. I recently self-published my first title – “Survivors: Secrets”. It’s a science-fiction, post-Apocalyptic tale, set in a modern dystopian-style England. I’m currently looking for honest reviewers and book-loving bloggers to give me feedback and an honest review. After looking at your blog and reading through a few of your posts and reviews, I know you’re exactly what I’m looking for. Hopefully my work interests you too, because I’d love to send you a copy for review?

There’s a link to the Amazon page below, underneath the blurb. Please excuse the book cover, I’m waiting for the last of my edits to finalise before re-releasing my work, hopefully with some shiny new reviews from people like yourself 🙂

**Lacey Young is a survivor. So is her sister, her best friend, and all the other young adults they share a hotel with now that the world has ended.

Lacey Young is a leader. That’s why when the lives of her crew and the people she loves become endangered, she must go against the odds and fight to take back what is theirs.

However, with secrets and betrayal as common as the grains of sand that smother the landscape, what once appeared to be a big problem threatens to become a tragedy. Blood is spilled, friendships are tested, and all the while the lurking threat that’s responsible for sending the world into chaos is closer than they all think.

Lacey has a secret. A secret she’s been repressing and hiding from those closest to her. It’s a secret that she knows can help save her friends and bring back some small semblance of peace.

    But at what cost? ***Version*=1&*entries*=0

Thank you for your time and consideration! I’m excited to hear back from you, hopefully soon 🙂

See description on Amazon! I think it will entice you! I was on Kindle Scout’s Hot & Trending list every day!

  5. Hi Kris,
I’d like to send a review request.
Roads & Circuses (West Dublin Series: Book #1)
It’s a humorous satire about a politician who wants to lead for no other real reason than the challenge of leading. Though it does discuss politics, the book is not overtly political, nor is it slanted towards the right wing or left wing. The overall theme is:It’s not so much what a politician says or does that should worry you, it’s what they actually THINK!

Let me know if you’d like to read and I can send over a copy.

  6. Hello.

My name is John Draper. I’m hoping you might be willing to review my first book, A Danger to God Himself. It is not a religious book. If anything, it’s an anti-religion book. It is literary fiction/satire. It contains 91 F bombs. (I counted.) Here is the back cover blurb:

Mormon missionary/onetime hedonist Kenny Feller has realized that God isn’t about to give him an ounce of the miracle power he needs to succeed on his mission—as promised! What’s more, he’s concluded that, frankly, people aren’t worth the trouble. Then his new junior companion shows up—the wisecracking Jared Baserman—and immediately starts hearing heavenly voices and seeing fantastic visions. For Kenny, it is immediately clear that God has sent Jared to propel him into Mormon Manhood.

But Kenny’s not the only person who takes note. Interests both virtuous and malevolent cozy up to Kenny and Jared, eager to make use of Jared’s gifting. At first, Kenny takes this as a sign that his perceptions of Jared are spot on. God is using Jared.

    But something’s not quite right.

Specifically, why in the hell would God choose someone as slope-shouldered as Jared—someone so unreligious, so strange—to be a channel for His supernatural power? He doesn’t even read the Book of Mormon. Plus he smells funny. As their tracting grows fruitless and Jared’s messages grow more bizarre, Kenny begins to wonder: Is Jared really touched by God?

And, if so, does God know what He’s doing?

A Danger to God Himself is a scathing takedown of religious certainty, a life-affirming tale set in 1970s Washington state—equal parts spiritual road map and coming-of-age tale.

I’d be happy to send you a copy for your review.

    Thanks for your time.

  7. Hello,

I am writing to humbly request that you review a complimentary copy of my memoir, “Borderline Affairs,” a recollection of events which transpired after my diagnosis with Borderline Personality Disorder. It is often harrowing, but, ultimately, uplifting. If this seems interesting, please let me know how to contact you. Thanks!

  8. Hello,

I would like to offer you a free copy of my book in exchange for an honest review. It is a post-apocalyptic action/adventure with some supernatural elements and a bit of black humor. I’ve been told that it’s “grim but funny,” if something like that is even possible. It also has quite a bit of harsh language, and I don’t know how you’d feel about that so I’m giving you a warning.

The book itself is about a man who rises from a grave in the middle of nowhere, only to find that society had collapsed while he was in the ground. Having no memory of anything before he rose, he sets off to learn about himself and this insane world.

I can tell you more, but they say a picture is worth a thousand words and mine is here:

I hope that your interest is piqued and thank you for your time. If you have any questions, by all means feel free to ask them.

    All the best,
    M. T. Miller

  9. Hello,
I am sorry to take your time away from more important things you have to do. But I have seen your review of one of Werner Stejskal’s book: Oliver and Jumpy, Stories 37-39.”

Well, my name is Gigi Sedlmayer and I am the author of the Talon series. As I am seeking reviews for my books I was wondering if you would be interested to review my books.
    Please check them out.

I am looking forward of your reply. Thank you in advance.

    Gigi Sedlmayer
