Series: Inkspirations

Paperback: 72 pages

Publisher: HCI (August 9, 2016)

Every Christian knows that putting the Fruit of the Spirit into practice takes a daily effort and commitment, and it takes a lifetime to master any one of them, let alone all nine. In this new coloring book for adults, Inkspirations Fruit of the Spirit celebrates these powerful virtues that help to fortify us throughout life’s joys and challenges.

Each empowering verse alongside inspiring images reminds us of how acts of kindness, gentleness, or self-control can make a difference, not only in our own lives, but more importantly, in the lives of others. The more we focus and allow God to work in us, the more His spirit can shine through us.

Illustrator Lorrie Bennett is known for painting vintage Bibles. Dating back to the early 1900s, many of her Bibles have been discarded because they are so worn. Inspired by the thought that the Bibles provided spiritual guidance for generations of people, she decided to give them new life by using them as canvases for her unique artwork. This style is adapted to many of the coloring pages within Inkspirations Fruit of the Spirit, so that the Word of God becomes a literal and figurative backdrop for your creations. Now you can color your day brighter, turning your art into meaningful and memorable keepsakes that show God’s Love and Grace.

Inkspirations Fruit of the Spirit includes:

  •   More than 30 original works of art to uplift and inspire
  •   Empowering scriptures for individual or group reflection and meditation
  •   Special binding that allows for pages to lay flat for a better work surface
  •   Perforated edges make it easy to tear and share finished colored pieces

Happy Friday!!! Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Inkspirations: Fruit of the Spirit by Lorrie Bennett. I’d like to thank TLC Blog Tours for giving me the opportunity to play with this coloring book in exchange for an honest review of it.

This is actually the first adult coloring book that I am reviewing on my blog so that is super exciting for me in itself. I color in quite a few different adult coloring books and they typically are centered around animal themes. This Inkspirations coloring book was quite different for me as it is a Christian based coloring book so it is the first of its kind that I have colored in. I didn’t know what to expect from it but when I received it and started looking at the illustrations inside it, I loved it immediately. It is beautiful.

There is a lot of variety within the coloring book. There are images of  stained glass windows, simple illustrations, more complex illustrations with fine details, and bible passages. Every image is absolutely beautiful and inspiring. I find that coloring helps to sooth me after a stressful day and I felt like this one had that effect on me. I also loved the Harmony Ho-To’s at the beginning of the book and the sample colorings. Not only were they gorgeous, they helped to put the picture into perspective. You don’t need to follow this though, I read through it and admired the pictures and then sort of just threw color on the page. As a whole, it is an absolutely gorgeous coloring book. If you would like a faith based coloring book this is absolutely for you but I think that anyone would have fun coloring it. I am definitely going to be buying a copy of this coloring book for my mother in law for her birthday, I am glad I got to try it out because I know that she is going to adore it and how beautiful it is. It definitely left me wanting to look into buying more from Inkspirations.

I thought I’d end this post by sharing one of my favorite images from it. Happy Reading everyone!
