San Francisco after dark can be full of unusual sights, but the last thing Ana Khoury expects to stumble across is black-garbed figures carrying a body into a building. Her call to 911 is interrupted by a blow to the head, plunging her into nothingness.

Sabel Young has long been attracted to the gentle and alluring Ana, but her esoteric assignments have left her with few options for romance. When she realizes that Ana has been taken—and by whom—her very private life and Ana’s normal world collide. Her orders were specific: she is not supposed to get involved with demons.

Even if Sabel’s interest in Ana weren’t already personal, there is no way she will leave a woman with no magic in the hands of dark powers. With daring and luck she pulls Ana to safety and at first it appears they have escaped dark magic unscathed. At first…

Happy Halloween everyone and welcome to my stop on The Demon Abraxas blog tour! I am especially excited to be participating in this blog tour on Halloween, I think it’s a very fitting title to post about today. I would like to thank both TLC Blog Tours and Rachel Calish for allowing me to be part of this tour and read this book in exchange for an honest review!

I had a hard time fixing a particular genre to this book because one of the great things about it is it fits within a few different genres like paranormal, urban fiction, sci-fi-fantasy romance so I put all of these down in the genre space above. I wasn’t sure what to expect out of The Demon Abraxas and when I did some research on the author I found that this is her first published book and it was just released on October 15th. Exciting! I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I have always liked paranormal type books although I haven’t read too many paranormal books this past year. The Demon Abraxas is definitely the kind of book that draws you into its story right from the start, it is a pretty light read and is one of those really entertaining books that you can’t put down because you have to know what happens next which sadly makes your time with it a little shorter than you would like. That’s exactly how I felt. The action in the story starts right away and leaves you breathless.
The plot was definitely original and pretty fast paced, I never found myself bored with the story or the characters, I always found myself wanting more. I loved the characters…I really liked Ana and Sabel, I loved the romance going on between them. I think this book has the most interesting sexy scene I’ve experienced so far in that it takes place outside of time. I also loved the romance between Lily and Abraxas, they were hot hot hot and it was interesting to see the romance between a half demon and a demon who didn’t really have a physical being (unless you count Ana). I just really liked this world and I would be up to experiencing more of it, I love the author’s writing style and the way she describes the people and places in the universe she has created where demons and witches subtly power play in public. I liked the “demons living among us” aspect to this story and one of my most favorite things about it was the lore behind Abraxas himself. I would like to have learned more about it although I think what we do learn from Abraxas and the various characters who are familiar with him is fitting and wildly interesting.

Overall I am so happy I read this book and I give it a 4 out of 5 rating. It was entertaining, original and sexy…definitely a treat to read and would recommend it to any fan of paranormal fiction!
