Merry Christmas! I happen to absolutely love Christmas. There are a lot of reasons why but one of the top reasons is seeing my family and friends open the presents I got them. I like making them smile, especially the kiddos. It’s an awesome feeling! I absolutely LOVE it when my husband opens his presents from me. It was a good Christmas. I love it also that everyone knows when in doubt, Barnes and Nobles gift cards work for me lol. They are literally gone within seconds seeing as how it’s so easy to buy books off the Nook bookstore. It literally takes touching the screen less than five times to buy books from my Nook.
Some Books I got with the Gift Cards (will be read in my 2013 Goodreads reading challenge that will start in a few days)
– The Poetic Edda translated by Lee M. Hollander (this one I’ve already read and have in physical format but just had to have it EPub as well)
– Racing in the Rain: My Life as a Dog by Garth Stein (I’ve read the adult fiction version which I loved, this one is adapted for children)
– Austenland by Shannon Hale
– Six Early Days by David Leviathon
– Cinder by Marissa Meyer
In a few days I will be posting a 2013 reading list that I will compile from the various ebooks and physical books I have lined up. For now I’m still reading City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. I have had little time this week to read because of Christmas festivities and doing overtime at work. And here I thought I would be less busy when the semester ended.
The downside about Christmas this year is that I injured my back and have had pretty bad back pain for the past couple of days which has not been fun at all. The only fun thing about it is that my husband is quite literally babying me which is awesome :).
I can’t believe that we are almost in 2013. This year feels like it has gone by extra fast. Alot has happened in 2012 that made this year a really great year for us. We started 2012 by buying a new home and we’ve slowly but surely made it into our home. There is still alot we want to do with it but for the time being we are happy. We just passed our three year wedding anniversary and I am still as in love as I was seven years ago when we went on our first date. Our families both had new additions born into the family this year. Yep, 2012 is definitely one for the books. I can’t wait for 2013.
One thing I really can’t wait for is first semester of Grad school (Library School!!!). Speaking of which, guess who made Dean’s list? Yep, this girl! Anyway I’m taking twelve hours this first semester of Grad school which kind of makes me nervous since I don’t know what to expect but I’m also very, very excited. I am taking:
– Introduction to the Information Profession
– Information Sources and Services
– Online Information Retrieval
– Preservation and Conservation of Library Materials
I don’t know how I got so off subject here but I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones with lots of love and lots of laughter. Both of which are essential to the soul! Next up is New Years which I haven’t even given much thought to yet which guarantees a pretty interesting night!
